    How do I apply or register my interest?

    You can contact us at any time for more information or to register your interest in a particular development. We are part of the Tyne and Wear Homes partnership which means that if you want to apply for a specific property, you must complete a Tyne and Wear Homes registration form at www.tyneandwearhomes.org.uk

    How can I see which properties are available?

    You can register your interest in a development at any time and we will contact you as soon as a property becomes available there. You can also search for properties which are currently available on the Tyne and Wear Homes website at www.tyneandwearhomes.org.uk.

    Can I buy an apartment/bungalow?

    No, you won’t be able to buy an apartment or bungalow as they are only available for rent.

    How much is the weekly rent?

    On average you will be paying £70 for your basic rent charge. There will be a weekly service charge added to this.

    What does the service charge cover?

    The weekly service charge covers the cost of running the development, including the services of the manager, repairs and maintenance, gardening and the cleaning of shared areas.

    Will the cost of the service charge increase after I move in?

    From year to year the service charge may change, however we will meet with you before any changes happen to hear your thoughts and feelings on proposed costs.

    Can I bring my pet?

    Yes, we are happy for you to bring one pet to live with you in your apartment. You may keep small caged birds (not pigeons), small caged animals (such as rabbits or guinea pigs) or a small aquarium. You may keep one dog and one cat if the access to your home is not by a shared entrance. If you live in an apartment with a shared entrance, you may keep an assistance dog once you have received our written permission.

    Can my friends and family stay with me?

    We understand the importance of visits from friends and family which is why they are free to drop in to see you whenever you like. Guest suites are available in some of our developments. Your guests are welcome to stay in these suites for a small nightly charge of between £5 -£10.

    Are meals provided?

    No, you will have your own fully fitted kitchen in your apartment/bungalow enabling you to prepare all meals from your own home.

    Are the apartments/bungalows part or fully furnished?

    The apartments are unfurnished ready for your own furniture. However, you can rent a furniture pack from us if this would suit you better. Ask your relocation team for more information.

    Will I be able to bring my own furniture with me?

    Yes, all of the properties in the development are unfurnished which means you are very welcome to bring your own furniture with you. Or we will be happy to supply you with furniture from our own in-house furniture service at a highly competitive price.

    Can I decorate my apartment/bungalow?

    Yes, you can redecorate and put up pictures in your apartment/bungalow.

    Is there private car parking available?

    Yes, in most of our developments there are free car parking spaces available for you and your visitors (visitor spaces will be subject to availability).

    Can I bring my motorised scooter to the development?

    Yes, in a small number of our developments you can use a lightweight motorised scooter (maximum speed 4 mph). This type of scooter must be stored in your apartment. You can also store Class 3 (maximum speed 8 mph) scooters in the secure store room which has a charging facility. Please note conditions apply.
